Job summary

Pillars Brewery in London is seeking a Junior Brewer to help drive our production and quality standards. You will assist wort production on a manual 12hl brewhouse, perform cellar duties, monitor gravity and pH, and support yeast handling and dry hopping.

Working five days a week, 45 hours, you’ll maintain cleanliness, assist with filtration, CIP, keg filling, packaging, and order preparation for delivery. A brewing qualification is essential.

Qualifications

• Essential: GCB from the CIBD.
• Diploma or Masters degree in Brewing.
• 1 year minimum experience in a junior/production brewer position.

Responsibilities

• Wort production on a manual, 12hl brewhouse.
• Cellar work including gravity and pH checks.
• Yeast handling, dry hopping, filtration, CIP, and quality checks.
• Packaging into kegs and bottles; preparing orders for delivery drivers.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and stock rotation.

Hours of work: 5 days per week. 45 hrs a week, Monday to Friday, average shifts of 7am to 4pm, 9am to 6pm or 12am to 9pm

Summary of Position :
Since 2016 Pillars Brewery has developed into a successful, independent lager brewery with a reputation for great quality lagers. We are seeking a Junior Brewer who can continue to build on this reputation and help drive the team forward.
Primarily the Junior Brewer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Wort production on a manual, 12hl brewhouse
• Cellar work:
• Gravity and pH checks
• Yeast handling
• Dry hopping
• Filtration
• CIP of all plant and equipment
• Thorough record keeping
• Quality checks throughout the process
• Packaging into kegs and bottles
• Preparing orders for delivery drivers when needed
• Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in the brewery
• Stock checking and stock rotation/management
