TPF Recruitment is supporting a growing and reputable firm of accountants with multiple offices across Sussex in their search for a Part-Time Junior Bookkeeper to join their outsourcing team based in Brighton.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with strong bookkeeping experience to advance their career within a progressive and supportive accountancy practice, with clear progression routes. About the Role

As part of the outsourcing team—which includes bookkeepers, management accountants, and payroll administrators—you will play a key role in delivering accurate and timely financial information to clients. Your work will form the foundation of the services provided.

• Perform day-to-day bookkeeping for a diverse client base using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and ClearBooks.
• Manage client relationships and support them with software and bookkeeping queries.
• Complete bank reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, and other entries up to trial balance.
• Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales.
• Prepare schedules and reports as needed.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

• Has well-rounded bookkeeping knowledge.
• Is experienced with cloud-based accounting software.
• Can work independently and manage their workload.
• Is detail-oriented with excellent time management skills.
• Delivers outstanding customer service.
• Is proactive and a strong team player.
• Has experience in an accountancy practice (preferred).
