Job summary

Applus+ IDIADA UK is seeking a Junior Mechanical Technician to join the Testing team at the Nuneaton office, contributing to automotive testing projects in workshop and on-road environments. You will support engineering with brake dynamometer setup, fixture fabrication, data acquisition, test execution, and calibration, while ensuring safe, compliant practices.

Qualifications

Automotive mechanic/technician experience is valued.
Basic proficiency in office IT systems.
Fluent English is required.
Must have a full UK driving licence.
Willingness to travel when needed.

Responsibilities

Support testing activities including brake dynamometer setup, fixture fabrication, wiring and data acquisition.
Perform test preparation, operation and data collection per procedures.
Fabricate fixtures to support brake testing and organize testing samples in workshop.
Assist with test equipment upkeep, calibration, and facilities upgrades.
Contribute to diverse vehicle-based testing activities (Durability, Quality, Infotainment, Brakes, EV charging, ADAS).
Ensure compliance with project management, quality, OHS and facilities policies.
