Job Summary:

The Junior Installation Technician is responsible for assisting with various installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position supports the key field operations and helps ensure the actual work is completed efficiently in our clients' buildings. The Junior Installation Technician will work closely with project management, field supervisors, and other team members to understand their role on specific projects. They will help interpret drawing packages to aid in the creation of the finished systems. This installation can include displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, and more.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist with the physical installation of various technologies in multiple locations.
2. Help execute a variety of cabling terminations for different wire and connector types and assist in testing completed terminations.
3. Support the preparation of equipment racks for staging of equipment, including wire lacing, and installing power strips, grounding bars, and jack-fields.
4. Read and understand basic functional design drawings, cable riser diagrams, and architectural drawings with guidance.
5. Assist in mounting base build equipment such as monitor mounts, ceiling speakers, microphones, and projectors.
6. Provide consistent technical performance and demonstrate flexibility in work schedules, including periodic overtime to meet project deadlines.
7. Maintain an organized work environment, specifically ensuring orderliness and cleanliness of job sites.
8. Maintain their toolkit, company vehicles, and installation materials inventories, keeping them clean, orderly, and well-documented.
9. Maintain a daily record of time worked on specific projects for timesheet entry and work performed reports.

A full driving licence would be advantageous.

Complexity:

This level of technician will assist with tasks on clients' job sites under the supervision of more experienced technicians or supervisors. They will learn to coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors on smaller projects as they gain experience.

Decision-Making Authority:

The Junior Installation Technician will work under close supervision and will make decisions with guidance from project managers and site supervisors. They will develop good judgment and diplomacy skills through interactions with clients and other key stakeholders on job sites.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that may be met by an employee. The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis. Employee will be responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. The employee can typically spend at least 60% of their time on their feet and be required to be mobile around the construction site. The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs and lift and/or move materials up to 40 pounds in construction areas. The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for SI installation projects. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth vision. When not on construction sites, the employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc.

Travel:

Frequent international travel is part of the role so the Employee must possess a valid passport.

Remuneration whilst away from home will be paid at the following rates:

• Overnight whilst in the UK, £20 per night.
• Overnight whilst overseas, £30 per night.
• Overseas rate increases to £40 per night after 1-year service.
• Overseas rate increases to £50 per night after 2 years’ service.
