Job summary

SR2 REC LTD is seeking a Junior AI/ML Engineer to help deliver computer vision and deep learning solutions for a major defence technology programme. You will work with AI researchers and senior engineers on real-world deployments and production-ready systems.

The role focuses on developing, testing and deploying ML models in Python, with PyTorch or TensorFlow, while gaining exposure to scalable pipelines, MLOps concepts, and edge processing in defence contexts.

Qualifications

• Active SC clearance (DV sponsorship by client).
• Practical experience developing ML solutions with Python.
• Experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Understanding of deep learning, CNNs, and computer vision.
• Familiarity with image processing and object detection.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (Git, testing).
• Willingness to learn from experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and optimise ML and computer vision models.
• Support deep learning solutions using Python and PyTorch.
• Assist model training, validation, evaluation and deployment.
• Contribute to scalable ML pipelines and production-quality software.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to integrate AI models into systems.
• Support testing, debugging and continuous improvement of AI apps.
