Are you looking for a rewarding career in the insurance industry? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a passion for accounting? If so, you might be the perfect candidate for the Junior Accounts Payable position we are recruiting for based in Cheltenham, paying up to £23k.

You will work Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm. This will be fully onsite during probation, with flexible working afterwards, allowing 3 days onsite and 2 remote days.

Hays has partnered with a leading global speciality insurance broker distributing various products and services to provide innovative solutions and expertise. They are now looking to recruit a new member in the Group Finance and Internal Audit department.

Your new role

As a Junior Accounts Payable Assistant, you will have varied responsibilities, including:

• Dealing with ledger invoices and payments
• Ensuring payments are made
• Data entry
• Handling queries as required
• Unallocated cash reconciliation and review
• Reconciliation of accounts statements
• Allocation of payments against ledger transactions
• Cash receipt allocation
• Creating statements

What you'll need to succeed

• Attention to detail
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
• Previous experience with MS Excel or accounting packages
• Previous experience in an admin or finance-related role is ideal
• A desire to pursue a career in finance
