An established and growing business in the Hertford is looking to add a proactive and motivated Finance Assistant to its accounts team.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their finance career, eager to gain hands-on experience while working toward professional qualifications.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You’ll support the finance function with a variety of day-to-day tasks, including:

• Managing credit control, including following up on outstanding payments and maintaining regular contact with clients
• Processing purchase ledger transactions such as invoices, credit notes, and payments
• Handling sales ledger duties including invoice creation, credit notes, and customer receipts
• Reconciling and processing company credit card expenses
• Responding to internal and external finance-related queries
• Overseeing the finance team’s shared inbox and ensuring timely responses
• Collaborating with operations and other internal departments
• Supporting with general finance administration and ad hoc tasks as needed
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Someone who is organised, detail-focused, and comfortable communicating with colleagues and clients at all levels
• A basic understanding of financial processes within a small business environment
• A genuine interest in building a finance career and studying towards a recognised qualification (such as AAT)
