Job summary

Regional Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established accountancy practice in the Welshpool area for a Junior Accountant. This role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio and a supportive team environment to develop technical skills.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in an accountancy practice, a recognised accounting qualification in progress (AAT/ACCA/ACA or equivalent), and a solid grasp of accounts preparation and bookkeeping.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or completed qualification (AAT/ACCA/ACA or equivalent).
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end accounts for a range of clients including sole traders, partnerships and companies.
• Assist with bookkeeping and VAT return preparation.
• Prepare management accounts where required.
• Support preparation of corporation tax and self-assessment returns.
• Liaise with clients to obtain financial information and respond to queries.
• Maintain accurate client records and meet deadlines.
• Assist senior team members with ad hoc accounting tasks.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Qualified, part-qualified, or currently studying towards a recognised accounting or finance qualification (such as AAT, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Good understanding of accounts preparation and bookkeeping

Desirable:

• Experience preparing VAT returns
• Knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage or QuickBooks
• Experience working with a variety of SME clients

Roles & Responsibilities
