Junior Accountant in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire - Job Ref: JO23702

Accountancy Elite is pleased to partner with a highly regarded practice in Stoke-on-Trent. Due to their excellent reputation and expanding network, they are experiencing growth and are looking to recruit a Junior Accountant. The ideal candidate will be bright, ambitious, tech-savvy, and people-oriented. They should have completed AAT, be studying their first ACCA/ACA exams, and have a minimum of 1 year of practice experience with good IT literacy.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Preparing annual accounts for limited and non-limited company clients
  2. Assisting with statutory audits
  3. Producing final draft accounts and tax computations for review
  4. Producing management accounts, cash flows, and budgets
  5. Providing a full range of company secretarial services
  6. Organising workload to prepare accounts and tax returns efficiently within time and budget constraints
  7. Checking client records and notifying clients of any deficiencies, assisting with bookkeeping system improvements
  8. Meeting with client managers to agree on account preparation approaches
  9. Assisting clients with accounting software installation and training
  10. Attending training workshops
Candidate Attributes
  1. Be newly AAT qualified and studying initial ACCA/ACA exams
  2. Minimum 1 year of practice experience
  3. Experience with software such as Iris, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc., is highly advantageous
Additional Details

Salary: £18,000 - £23,000 + Study Support (dependent on experience and added value)

Pension: Auto-enrollment

Benefits: Incentive scheme and discretionary bonus scheme included

Working hours: 9am - 5pm, with flexible hours between 8am - 6pm

Holiday: 30 days including statutory bank holidays, increasing with length of service

Study Support: Full Study Support Package offered
