Job description

At nsave, we’re building a new kind of fintech focused on transforming the way underserved communities manage and grow their wealth. We’re looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our growing team and play a vital role in supporting our finance operations and helping us scale with structure and confidence.

This is a part-time role in London, ideal for a university student studying accounting or finance.

Salary: £15 Per Hour / 2 days a week in London office.

About The Role

As a Junior Accountant at nsave, you’ll work closely with our Chief of Staff to maintain accurate records, support financial reporting, and ensure our day-to-day accounting processes run smoothly. This is a hands-on opportunity to gain real-world experience in a high-growth fintech, while contributing to our mission. You will be responsible for:

Core Accounting Support

  • Assist with data entry, invoice processing, and reconciliations
  • Maintain and update financial records with accuracy and timeliness
  • Help prepare monthly financial reports and support end-of-month processes
  • Assist with internal audits, compliance checks, and general admin tasks

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Support the development of streamlined workflows for finance and operations
  • Help maintain documentation for financial processes and internal controls
  • Flag inconsistencies or inefficiencies and propose simple improvements

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Coordinate with team members in operations and compliance for financial data collection
  • Support ad hoc requests from leadership related to budgeting, forecasting, or reporting

What We're Looking For

  • You’re currently studying accounting, finance, or a related field at university
  • You have a basic understanding of accounting principles (e.g., journal entries, debits/credits)
  • You’re comfortable with Excel/Google Sheets, and open to learning accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero)
  • You’re organised, detail-oriented, and not afraid to ask questions
  • You can manage your time well and meet deadlines, even when juggling classes
  • You’re proactive, thoughtful, and excited to work in a mission-driven startup
