A leading investment bank in London is seeking a Junior Accountant for a 6-month hybrid contract. This role offers an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or those in financial services to gain broad exposure to key business areas. The successful candidate will engage in month-end reporting, assist with P&L analysis, and interact with senior team members while developing their skills in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Finance, Maths, Accounting, or Business is ideal.
  • Knowledge of derivatives is a plus.
  • Previous P&L experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supported month-end reporting across equity and interest rate derivatives.
  • Provided detailed explanations of daily P&L figures.
  • Collaborated with internal stakeholders and attended pricing meetings.

Day rate - 6 month contract - Banking - London (Hybrid)

Junior Accountant:

I am currently working alongside an investment bank in London where they are looking to expand their growing team.


The perfect opportunity for someone who has just finished university or working within financial services wanted to get stuck in and learn from the team where you'll have high exposure to all areas within the business and working with senior members of the team

The role:

  • Month end reporting
  • Providing accurate reporting across equity derivatives, interest rate derivatives and XVA management business.
  • Provide explanation around daily P&L numbers including analysis of P&L fluctuations to the senior management reporting
  • Working and giving insight to key internal stakeholders
  • Joining pricing meetings
  • Equity and funding

About you:

  • Excel experience (Vlookup and PivotTables) -
  • Previous P&L experience
  • Degree level 2:1 or higher - (Ideally Finance, Maths, accounting, business)
  • Knowledge of derivatives
  • Problem solving and ability to think of their feet
