Job description

Are you looking for an entry-level road into finance to start your Accounting career? My client is a growing Accountancy Practice, based in Lancaster, and is keen to grow their team with the addition of a Junior Accounts Assistant.

As Junior Accounts Assistant your duties will include:

  1. Perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.
  2. Input financial transactions into the accounting system.
  3. Update and maintain accounting records and files.
  4. Prepare and process invoices, bills, and payments.
  5. Reconcile bank statements and other financial documents.
  6. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  7. Generate financial reports as needed.

To be considered for this position the successful candidate will have:

  • Relevant Degree (Maths, Economics, Business Studies) / A-Level or equivalent qualifications including GCSE grade C or above in Maths and English or with some equivalent accountancy qualification or experience.
  • IT proficient with MS Excel skills.
  • A credible individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and able to show initiative.

  • Ability to work with others to produce actions to solve problems.
  • Ability to work under pressure and cope with high and varied workloads.
  • Accurate, strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
