SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Junior Sales Manager (UK) is an integral and important part of Smiths Detection Northern Europe commercial team, carrying the overall sales responsibilities for specific market verticals and accounts.
This position is an individual contributor role and will assume responsibility for the sales of Smiths Detection's range of security screening systems for specific market verticals.
Additional responsibilities include all aspects of the sales process.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education/Training: Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience: 2 to 5 years of professional experience and demonstrable success in Sales/Marketing or Business Development selling capital intensive, technology products/solutions preferably homeland security-related systems.
Exposure in selling to customers in market segments such as Aviation, Ports & Borders, Urban Security and Defence.
Experience within a process driven and disciplined sales organization.
Knowledge/Skills: Self-motivated and proactive approach to managing a Sales territory
Establish and maintain a professional relationship with customers/partners/prospects
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to present information in front of a large group
KEY COMPETENCIES:

Will be required to travel on average 50% of the month
Ability to think strategically and develop strategic plans
Ability to work independently
Deal with different personalities and overcome communication barriers, able to work effectively in a multicultural environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Individual's primary workstation may be in an office setting or at home office. Individual will travel frequently and work at internal SD offices, customer and/or prospects' office or at trade shows.
