We are looking for a highly analytical, curious, and resourceful Financial Analyst to support planning/forecasting exercises, analyze the impact of existing programs, root cause issues as they come up, identify and quantify opportunities for cost savings, and partner with internal stakeholders to increase efficiency and transparency of our financial reporting processes.

JP Operations FP&A:
JP Operations Financial Planning and Analysis leads month-end close variance analysis, manages the current year's forecast, and plans for the operations-wide financials for the following year and long term.
We are a team of analysts, each specializing in particular operational costs performance, providing a consolidated view to senior leadership. Our engagement with each business and their controlling finance teams is diverse and frequent. FP&A offers a broad and detailed view of financial performance.
This role presents long-term opportunities to grow into other parts of Operations and the global Finance team.

The Sr. Financial Analyst will execute financial planning and reporting processes for our fulfillment network, coordinating with Operations business stakeholders and finance management in Tokyo and other locations.
He/She will identify relevant insights, prepare analytical reports, and provide business commentary to enable leaders to make sound decisions.
Responsibilities include analyzing recent Operations performance, communicating impacts to retail businesses, managing projects to streamline planning/reporting processes, and assessing financial impacts of new initiatives.
The position is based at our Tokyo headquarters with occasional travel.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- BA/BS degree
- 3+ years of finance or analytical experience
- Business-level Japanese and English skills (reading, writing, speaking)
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, Variance Analysis, IF functions, etc.)
- Strong communication skills to convey complex information effectively
- Proven ability to solve complex problems using data and metrics
- Ability to develop strategic relationships with business partners
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of experience in continuous improvement projects with measurable results
- MBA or CPA
- Knowledge of Tableau
- Experience with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and financial systems (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
