Responsibilities and Impact
  • Producing sport output on BBC Radio Manchester that makes a big impact.
  • Our breakfast Sport bulletins are designed to showcase our sport output and make a huge impact in the Joe McGrath Breakfast Show.
  • As a commentator at BBC Radio Manchester you'll travel up and down the country to bring our listeners the very best live commentary or match reports.
  • We regularly deliver football (including women’s game), rugby league and rugby union, and we are looking for opportunities to cover more sports that our audience is passionate about.
  • Produce top-tier sport bulletins, live commentary, and digital content reflecting Greater Manchester’s rich sporting landscape.
Essential Criteria / Qualifications
  • Experience in sport broadcasting at a comparable level to BBC Radio Manchester, able to act as a producer, presenter, commentator, reporter, and bulletin reader.
  • A great broadcast voice with resilience and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Creativity to bring and champion the best and biggest ideas for content.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable
  • Experience commentating on Premier League Football.
  • Radio production experience.
  • Any industry awards or evidence of created content (blog, podcast, fan media, or social channels).
