Job Purpose
BBC North Yorkshire covers one of the largest patches in England, spanning from the beaches of Scarborough to the bustling city of York, the spa town of Harrogate to the rural Yorkshire Dales.
We're now looking for a motivated and multi-skilled journalist to join our team to help tell the stories of this vibrant and varied region.
As this is primarily a newsreading position you'll need to be an experienced newsreader with a fantastic voice, an unflappable personality and an ability to deal with the pressure of hourly live bulletins.
You should be able to spot a great top line in a story, edit compelling audio clips and understand how to develop a story throughout the day and even into the next day.
You'll need to have excellent news judgment and ability to work alone as well as alongside colleagues across Yorkshire to make sure stories travel.
In our digital first newsroom you will also be expected to write up stories for our online index so some digital experience, as well as understanding of online audiences, is preferred for this role.
Alongside your application, please include a newsreading demo. This can be submitted as an attached file or by sharing a web link.
