Job summary

Prysmian Group, a global leader in energy and telecommunications cable systems, is seeking an experienced Jointing Supervisor to join our team in Bishopstoke, Hampshire. You will provide technical guidance, lead jointing activities on site, and ensure high standards of safety and workmanship.

Travel across the UK will be required for project support, and you will mentor jointers while collaborating with the Jointing Operations Manager to deliver major infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in HV/EHV cable jointing and accessory installation.
• Strong technical knowledge of cable systems, joints, terminations and accessories.
• Supervisory or mentoring experience is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee jointing activities on site to ensure compliance with procedures.
• Promote safety culture and high quality workmanship.
• Provide technical support and advice to jointing teams.
• Investigate and resolve technical jointing issues.
• Assist with development and implementation of jointing procedures and best practices.
• Support new product introductions, techniques and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assist with planning activities, tooling requirements, and project readiness.
• Support training and development of jointers (existing and trainees).
• Represent the jointing function in meetings with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Work with the Jointing Operations Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
• Travel to customer and project sites across the UK; travel is generally limited and overnight stays are infrequent.

We are looking for an experienced Jointing Supervisor to join our team based in Bishopstoke. You'll use your technical expertise and leadership skills to support our jointing operations, maintain high standards of workmanship and safety, and help develop the next generation of jointers. The role offers a balance between site-based support and technical leadership, allowing you to remain connected to operations while reducing the day-to-day physical demands of full-time jointing work.

What You'll Be Doing As Jointing Supervisor, you will provide technical guidance and operational support across a variety of projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Prysmian's high standards.

• Supporting and overseeing jointing activities on site to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry best practice.
• Promoting a strong safety culture and driving high standards of quality and workmanship.

• Investigating and helping resolve technical jointing issues where they arise.
• Assisting with the development and implementation of jointing procedures, instructions, and best practices.
• Supporting new product introductions, techniques, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Assisting with planning activities, tooling requirements, and project readiness.
• Supporting the training and development of existing and trainee jointers.
• Representing the jointing function in meetings with customers, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Working closely with the Jointing Operations Manager to ensure successful project delivery.
• Travel to customer and project sites across the UK will be required, although travel is generally limited and overnight stays are typically infrequent.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from experienced cable jointers or supervisory professionals who have extensive knowledge of high-voltage cable systems and jointing techniques. You'll ideally have:

• Significant experience in HV/EHV cable jointing and accessory installation.
• Strong technical knowledge of cable systems, joints, terminations, and associated accessories.
• A passion for sharing knowledge and developing others.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to investigate technical issues and implement practical solutions.
• A proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Previous experience in a supervisory, mentoring, or technical support capacity would be advantageous.
