Joint Director of Estates & Facilities

As the Joint Director, you will hold overarching responsibility for the strategic leadership and operational management of the estates and facilities across our two Trusts, ensuring our environments are safe, sustainable, and fit for the future.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our dynamic executive teams, senior clinical leaders, and external partners. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving our commitment to sustainability, enhancing operational efficiency, and delivering on our ambitious estates transformation agenda.
The Joint Director of Estates and Facilities has overarching accountability and responsibility for the Estates, Facilities and Estates-related Capital Developments at both Trusts. The postholder will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of an effective, long-term estate strategy on each site, together with providing the professional leadership and operational management across their portfolio.
The Joint Director of Estates and Facilities will be the most senior responsible person, ensuring suitable and sufficient governance arrangements are embedded into the departments, which provides assurance to the Chief Executive and Trust Boards.
Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust serves a community of 250,000 people across Tameside & Glossop. We provide a range of services both within the hospital and across our community for both adults and children. Our vision is to improve health outcomes for our population and influence wider determinants of health through collaboration with our health & care partners. With an annual budget of around £290m and 4,150 staff, we support around a quarter of a million patients in Tameside, Glossop and from neighbouring Derbyshire.
Stockport NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services for children and adults across Stockport and the High Peak, as well as community health services for Stockport, Tameside and Glossop. Stepping Hill Hospital treats over 500,000 patients per year and community health services are run across 24 sites in Stockport. With an annual budget of around £400m and 6,500 staff, the Trust supports around half a million patients a year across Stockport, as well as patients from neighbouring Cheshire East and the High Peak area of Derbyshire.

This is a senior corporate leadership role, involving close collaborative working with the Executive Team and senior clinical staff. The role carries significant responsibility for financial management and regulatory compliance.
