About The Role

  • The postholder will be responsible for driving transformation as considering value for money in planning, commissioning, service redesign and capacity building for Children’s Commissioning and North West London.
  • The postholder will lead on commissioning of services for children, young people and their families in accordance with Hounslow’s Children and Young People’s Plan and aligned with NWL.
  • The postholder will work with colleagues to commission the services for children that relate to early years and short break for the Council and NWL.
  • The postholder will support the implementation of whole systems integrated health and social care for children in Hounslow.

About The Team You’ll Be Working In

  • To take a pro-active approach in engaging and liaising with stakeholders that supports the identification and sharing best practice in commissioning and service design for services for children, young people and their families.
  • To support the commissioned services that demonstrates value for money through monitoring, managing and delivery of agreed outcomes and benefits.
  • To ensure projects are delivered within the agreed timescales and are cost effective and fellow the required governance and are documented in accordance with both organisations processes and procedures.
  • To write clearly and concisely, particularly when writing specifications and business cases. You must also have the ability to present complex visions and ideas in a simple effective way to stakeholders.

About You

  • You have significant knowledge of the Children’s Social Care sector and experience of developing and delivering a variety of complex projects in a public sector setting.
  • You have a collaborative approach to problem solving, can operate effectively through prioritisation, delegation of tasks and organisation of available resources.
  • You communicate effectively with a range of audiences, including elected members and colleagues of all levels of seniority; you will have used this to engage with stakeholders and ensure their needs are met.
  • You are committed to the public service ethos and putting residents first; but can balance this with an emotional resilience and commercial awareness, to operate efficiently in an austere financial environment.

Qualifications:

Although relevant experience is the key for tis post, graduate level qualification or relevant professional experience is desirable.
