£33,210 - £39,419 FTE plus market weighting of £5,000 FTE (£7,180.54 - £8,523.03 pro-rata plus market weighting of £1,081.08 per annum)

About the role

The faculty of Automotive, Construction & Engineering seeks to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Joinery Tutor. This fast-paced and diverse role involves working closely with colleagues and Curriculum Managers to deliver high-quality, industry-relevant teaching and learning in Joinery & Carpentry.

Other duties include:

  • Robust tracking and management of learner attendance
  • Ensuring learner work (assessment and feedback) is of high standard, meeting aspirational targets
  • Creating and maintaining records such as registers and learner progress information, including schemes of learning
  • Monitoring curriculum delivery to ensure content is current and industry reflective
  • Supporting learner meetings, parents’ evenings, and college events
  • Safeguarding learners and young adults in line with sector expectations

About the person

The successful candidate will have solid experience in a Joinery & Carpentry environment, excellent communication skills focused on the learner experience, and strong organisational and administrative skills.

Candidates should also have:

  • Level 2/GCSE Maths and English
  • Level 3 or higher qualification relevant to the role
  • Teaching Qualification – Cert Ed/PGCE or willingness to work towards
  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility
  • Working knowledge of IT programmes such as Word and Excel
