Northern Ireland Housing Executive - Joiner - Portadown

About the role:
  • £13.91 per hour
  • Monday to Thursday (8.30am – 4.30pm) & Friday (8.30am – 4.00pm)
  • Holidays: 35 days pro rata
  • Duration: Temporary, ongoing
What you'll be doing in this role:
  • Fitting kitchens to required specifications
  • Repairing, renewing, and maintaining internal/external doors, door frames, windows, and associated ironmongery
  • Repairing, renewing, and maintaining all types of flooring, tiles, and wall finishes including levelling compounds
  • Repairing, renewing, and maintaining bath panels, skirting, plywood ducting, etc.
  • Repairing, renewing, and maintaining fencing, gates, and related works
  • Constructing form-work, joists, roof trusses, slating, tiling, and flat roof construction
  • Repairs to guttering, downpipes, and roofline works
  • Erecting plasterboard and dry lining
  • Painting and staining as required
What requirements are needed for this role:
  • Successfully completed an apprenticeship in Joinery (time served or skills-based)
  • At least 2 years of post-apprenticeship joinery experience
  • Competent in core trades with the ability to complete a range of tasks independently
  • Sound practical knowledge of current Health and Safety legislation in a maintenance/repair environment
  • Full current driving license (C1 desirable)
  • Flexibility to provide emergency call-out services on evenings and weekends on a rota basis
  • Willingness to undertake a Basic AccessNI Disclosure as part of the vetting process. Having a criminal record does not necessarily disqualify you.
