Job description

About the Role

As a Joiner, you will carry out a full range of joinery work, both reactive and planned, . This includes interpreting working drawings, ordering materials, and ensuring work is completed to high standards of quality and safety.

You will also play a role in supporting other staff, participating in on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake a full range of joinery tasks, including benchwork and repairs in a building maintenance environment.
  • Carry out both reactive and planned maintenance .
  • Work from provided working drawings, ensuring accuracy and quality in execution.
  • Identify, order, and collect materials as required.
  • Provide job-costing and time-recording information as needed.
  • Participate in a 24-hour emergency callout service if required.
  • Assist in the training and on-the-job coaching of new employees, contractors, apprentices, or other relevant staff.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, including work at heights.
  • Maintain detailed records of work for performance monitoring and reporting purposes.

Essential Criteria

Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants must, as at the closing date for receipt of applications:

  • Be a time-served Joiner or hold relevant qualifications such as Parts 1 and 2 Certificates in Craft and Advanced Craft in Carpentry and Joinery.
  • Possess a full, current driving licence valid in Northern Ireland, or have access to transport that meets the requirements of the post.
  • Demonstrate at least one year's relevant experience in the following areas:
  • Working in a building maintenance environment.
  • Undertaking benchwork and joinery repairs in commercial properties.
