The Venue

This role is responsible for delivering the highest standards of building maintenance within the Midlands Hub (Derby & Sheffield Venues) Geographical Area.

About the Role

Our Joiners are responsible for the highest standard of maintenance which includes Reactive, Planned Preventative, and Scheduled Maintenance Services. The role is focused on maintaining buildings, infrastructure, and equipment in compliance with statutory standards, approved codes of practice, and Building Engineering Systems Association SFG Schedules of Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Multi trade skilled joiner, capable of completing works in other construction trades including patching, plastering, wall and floor tiling, and minor groundwork activities.
  • Repair/renew/maintain fire doors to current Fire Safety Standards.
  • Repair/renew doors and door casing, skirting, handrails, balustrades, pipe boards, and ducting panels.
  • Repair/renew kitchen units, work tops, and decorative finishes.
  • Repair/replace/fit ironmongery to doors and windows.
  • Install/repair studding, partition walls, T and G or sheet flooring.
  • Repair/renew timber and UPVC window frames.
  • Support project development and delivery across all departments.
  • Support the development and utilise use of a CAFM system as directed to track and coordinate all maintenance activities, both planned and reactive. Receiving, updating, and closing off requests and maintaining records.
  • Undertaking, developing, and reviewing risk assessments and method statements for work in which the role involves.
  • Completing incident forms for accidents or near misses or events which require reporting.
  • Remaining vigilant of unforeseen hazards and risks to oneself and others.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Understanding of CDM Regulations 2015.
  • Understanding of Fire Door Maintenance.
  • Full UK Driving License.
  • Carpentry & Joinery (7906) - City and Guilds or NVQ Level 3 Joinery.
