Job description

We are looking for a Joiner/Joinery Technician to join the Repairs and Maintenance team in West Yorkshire, covering Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract, and Barnsley areas. As a Joiner, you will provide all types of joinery repairs to tenanted and vacant properties, delivering a customer service-oriented repair and maintenance service.

Requirements

• Full manual UK driver’s license
• Experience in all disciplines expected of a qualified Joiner/Joinery Technician, along with other related building disciplines as needed
• Relevant qualification such as City and Guilds Advanced Craft Certificate in Carpentry & Joinery or equivalent (NVQ Level 2)
• Experience in a customer service environment
• Proven ability to maximize job completion and repairs in one visit

Key Responsibilities

1. Perform all types of joinery repairs in accordance with job tickets, specifications, and regulations, ensuring quality and compliance.
2. Organize work efficiently to minimize downtime and proactively communicate workload issues for reallocation.
3. Participate in overtime, standby, or call-out duties as required.
4. Use initiative to diagnose and undertake repairs, obtaining approval for costs or extended time as necessary.
5. Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and teamwork to ensure efficient service delivery.
