Monument Design & Build have been in business for 14 years. We are a multi-discipline Architectural, Build and Interior Design practice that conducts and delivers beautiful projects from start to finish for residential and commercial clients.

We are a growing team consisting Architectural, Build & Interior Design and believe the success in what we do is key to the people who work for us.

Summary Of Role

Reporting to the Contracts Manager the Joiner will be responsible for carrying out all Joinery duties as noted below in line with relevant health & safety legislation.

Joinery Duties And Responsibilities

  • Construction of timber frames, cutting and shaping wood
  • Repairs and maintenance of doors, door frames, windows etc
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various construction projects
  • Carrying out method statements and risk assessments in liaison with Site Supervisor
  • Carrying out inspection of tools, plant and equipment before every use in line with Health and Safety legislation.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety and other relevant legislations
  • Snagging work
  • Providing a quality service to clients and maintaining good customer and working relationships
  • Undertaking all relevant training and development activities as required.
  • The above list is not exhaustive and the post holder may be required to take on other duties and responsibilities for the effective and efficient performance of this role.

Essential Skills, Experience And Attributes

  • NVQ Level 3 in carpentry and Joinery
  • At least 3yrs on the job experience
  • Proven experience working within the construction industry
  • Ability to read technical drawings and plans accurately would be an advantage
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work
  • High level of accuracy
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be organised, reliable and able to take initiative
  • Tact, discretion and the capacity to work effectively and stay calm under pressure
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work safely and have an understanding of Health & Safety on site
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with a high degree of skill and professionalism
  • Must generate trust and confidence in staff at all levels
  • Must have your own Tools
  • Must have a full & clean UK driving licence and your own vehicle as you will be working on various projects within the North East
