Job summary

Prime Recruitment Services Limited is currently recruiting for an experienced Joiner to join a well-established property maintenance and construction company operating across Northern Ireland. The role is based in Derry / Londonderry with a permanent, full-time contract and competitive hourly pay of £15.00 - £16.10, plus a company van and fuel card.

The successful candidate will work within reactive maintenance, delivering essential joinery repairs, maintenance and refurbishment across housing

Qualifications

• Recognised joinery qualification or time-served experience.
• Proven first and second fix joinery experience.
• Good knowledge of property maintenance and building works.
• CSR Card holder and full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to participate in out-of-hours call-out.

Responsibilities

• Carry out first and second fix joinery in residential properties.
• Complete reactive maintenance and general joinery works.
• Install/repair doors, frames, locks and ironmongery.
• Undertake kitchen installations, repairs and replacements.
• Glazing and window repair work; minor roofing and general maintenance.
• Work in occupied and vacant social housing properties.
• Identify faults, assess repairs and complete works efficiently.
• Collaborate with supervisors and other trades to meet deadlines.
• Provide professional customer service to tenants and clients.
• Follow site instructions and complete electronic job sheets accurately.
• Maintain high health and safety standards and tidy work areas.

Prime Recruitment Services is currently recruiting for an experienced and qualified Joiner on behalf of our client, a well-established property maintenance and construction company operating throughout Northern Ireland.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Joiner seeking a permanent, full-time position based in Derry / Londonderry, offering competitive pay of £15.00 - £16.10 per hour, a company van, fuel card, attractive on-call arrangements and an excellent employee benefits package.

The successful candidate will join our client's Reactive Maintenance team, delivering essential joinery repairs, maintenance and refurbishment works across occupied and vacant residential properties.

The role involves carrying out first and second fix joinery, identifying and resolving maintenance issues, and ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely and to a high professional standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out first and second fix joinery across residential properties.

• Complete reactive maintenance repairs and general joinery works.

• Install, repair and replace internal and external doors, frames, locks and ironmongery.

• Undertake kitchen installations, repairs and replacements.

• Carry out glazing, window repairs and associated joinery work.

• Complete minor roofing repairs and general building maintenance where required.

• Work within occupied and vacant social housing properties.

• Identify faults, assess required repairs and complete works efficiently.

• Work closely with supervisors and other tradespeople to meet maintenance deadlines.

• Deliver professional and courteous customer service to tenants and clients.

• Follow instructions from site supervisors to meet operational and customer requirements.

• Complete electronic job sheets, maintenance reports and associated documentation accurately.

• Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.

• Ensure all working areas are left clean, safe and tidy.

• Participate in a rotational out-of-hours emergency call-out service.

• Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A recognised joinery qualification, completed apprenticeship or relevant time-served experience.

• Proven experience in first and second fix joinery.

• Strong knowledge of property maintenance, repairs and general building works.

• Practical experience delivering minor building repairs and maintenance joinery services.

• A valid CSR Card.

• A full UK driving licence.

• Availability to participate in a rotational out-of-hours call-out service.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Strong awareness of workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.

• A reliable, flexible and professional approach to work.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working within the social housing sector.

• Experience delivering reactive maintenance services.

• Working at Heights and Harness Training.

• Experience with PVC flooring and ceramic wall tiling.

• Experience using PDAs, smartphones or electronic job management systems.

• Additional multi-trade maintenance experience.
