Job description

Role Overview:

As a Joiner working in social housing, you will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of carpentry and joinery tasks in occupied and void properties. This includes day-to-day repairs, planned maintenance, and refurbishments, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.

Salary: The hourly pay rate for this role is £18.00PH Ltd (PAYE equivalent £15.19 inclusive of holiday).

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out general joinery tasks such as door and frame repairs, kitchen unit replacements, skirting/flooring installation, and fencing
  2. Undertake planned and reactive maintenance in tenanted and void properties
  3. Deliver high-quality workmanship while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  4. Liaise professionally with tenants, housing officers, and team members
  5. Ensure all works are compliant with health and safety regulations and company policies
  6. Maintain accurate records of work completed via mobile devices or job sheets

Essential Requirements:

  1. NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent)
  2. Proven experience working as a Joiner, ideally within social or domestic housing
  3. Full UK driving licence
  4. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work respectfully in tenants’ homes
  5. Basic knowledge of other trades (plumbing, tiling, etc.) is an advantage
  6. Ability to use hand and power tools safely and efficiently
