A leading facilities management company is seeking a qualified Joiner for a permanent, full-time role in the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will perform essential repair works and general maintenance, working 37.5 hours per week. Qualifications

• Ability to work flexibly including overtime for emergency situations.
• Collaborative mindset to work within a multi-craft team.
• Willingness to undergo continuous training and development.

Responsibilities

• Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities as directed.
• Liaise with supervisors to request the supply of goods and services.
• Use analysis to diagnose faults utilizing relevant drawings.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance inspections.
• Complete report sheets, test certificates, and update drawings.
• Operate all relevant tools and equipment safely.
• Commit to ongoing training for skill maintenance.

Job Title

Equans is recruiting a Joiner to be part of our team in Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, EH16 4SA. This is a permanent full‑time role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is salary of £32,500 per annum and a benefits package.

Working Hours and Disclosure

Monday to Friday 0800 – 1600. This role includes a Disclosure Scotland Check to PVG Level, therefore ability to pass is essential.

What will you deliver?

• Undertake essential repair works and general maintenance activities as directed by the Fabric Supervisor/Fabric Manager.
• Liaise with the Fabric Supervisor and Fabric Manager to request the supply of goods and/or services when necessary.
• Use cause and effect analysis along with detailed examination techniques to diagnose faults, utilizing all relevant drawings and schematics.
• Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections in line with published procedures.
• Complete all required report sheets, test certificates, and update drawings with any alterations.
• Prepare and complete all Task and Risk Assessment sheets related to assigned work.
• Operate all relevant tools and equipment safely, strictly adhering to Equans Guidelines and Controls (e.g., Risk Assessment, Site Safety, Fire Safety, Control of Infection, Hazardous Substances).
• Maintain an understanding of how other craftsmen’s work relates to and impacts your own tasks.
• Commit to ongoing training to learn new techniques and maintain up‑to‑date skills.
• Fully understand the inter‑relationships between various maintenance crafts.
• Perform any other duties as requested by supervisors or managers.
• Work overtime to perform emergency repairs as required.
• Execute planned and preventative maintenance tasks effectively.
