Job Description:

Who are Selborne

Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.

Our ‘one team’ philosophy is about collaboration and openness, key to the success of this programme. We are looking for people with the talent and experience who can help shape better outcomes for our customers. We are using our expertise in digital transformation to review service design, modernise courses and deploy cutting edge technology to enhance courses including synthetic training (simulator) systems and data analytics. This programme is a shared endeavour working alongside the Royal Navy’s Training Management Group (TMG) as a single integrated team. Together, we will address challenges and collectively improve outcomes for sailors and marines at scale across the naval enterprise – something we are proud to be part of over the coming years.

What kind of work do we do?

We’re using technology to offer immersive experiences of real-life situations and develop better expectations of life on the front line. And we’re building modern apprenticeships, reviewing course content and creating a better culture around training. We’re also currently working on delivering a modernised centre of learning for submariners, with the Royal Navy Submarine Training Centre, that’s due to be completed in 2025. Ultimately, as part of this team, you’ll be helping to build the future workforce of the Royal Navy.

Exciting times!

We're thrilled to announce the expansion of our contract with the Royal Navy to deliver specialist or world class Marine Engineering training at HMS Sultan. Under this new contract, we will provide a comprehensive range of services, including training design and media, training delivery, training support, quality assurance, and equipment management. Our goal is to enhance the Royal Navy's operational capabilities and ensure the highest standards of training for their personnel.

In the coming months, we will be looking for talented individuals to join us on this exciting journey. We are seeking professionals from both Navy and civilian backgrounds for roles such as Coppersmiths, Marine Engineers, Administrators, and Instructors in various disciplines.

What’s it like to work with us?

With so many partners, two-way communication is important. So, we’re highly collaborative, hold regular town hall meetings and share updates through our newsletter. Your development is a priority too and we regularly share job openings between our partner companies, offering you a much wider range of opportunities to grow your career.

We’re an equal opportunity and Disability Confident employer, which means we recruit and develop people based on their merit and passion. We’re committed to providing an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment process and working environment for everyone.
