Job description

As an Infrastructure Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Infrastructure Platform/Data Protection and Recovery organization, you will utilize strong knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Apply your technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies across multiple applications of moderate scope.

Job responsibilities
  • Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope, focusing on improving data and systems at scale, and ensure end-to-end monitoring of applications.
  • Resolve most issues and determine appropriate escalation paths.
  • Execute conventional approaches to build or troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Support daily activities related to standard capacity process applications.
  • Partner with application and infrastructure teams to identify potential capacity risks and oversee remediation efforts.
  • Consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications.
  • Make significant decisions for projects involving multiple technologies and applications.
  • Understand service level indicators and utilize service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before impacting customers.
  • Manage incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement post-mortem processes to learn from failures and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with technical experts, stakeholders, and team members to resolve complex problems.
  • Design scalable systems to handle increased load and demand, including capacity planning and performance optimization.
  • Implement monitoring and observability practices to detect issues proactively, including setting up alerts, dashboards, and logging.
  • Contribute to a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 5+ years as an Infrastructure Engineer in an enterprise environment, with experience in Data Protection, Storage, Compute, or Network.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure disciplines such as hardware, networking, databases, storage engineering, deployment, automation, scalability, resilience, and performance assessment.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python).
  • Experience with multiple cloud technologies and the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
  • Desire to expand infrastructure engineering knowledge, data fluency, and automation skills.
  • This is a 3-day per week position, with occasional flexibility required to ensure successful project implementation.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience with Data Protection solutions such as Cohesity or Commvault.
