Job description

Reports to – Technical Manager

Hours – Casual hours across 7 days a week including evenings and weekends.

Salary – £12.97 per hour

Love the buzz of live performance? We’re looking for practical and passionate individuals to join our pool of Casual Crew and Technicians at the iconic Tyne Theatre & Opera House.

With over 250 shows a year — from rock ‘n’ roll to musicals, comedy, ballet, opera and the all-important panto — no two nights are ever the same!

As Part Of The Technical Team, You’ll

  • Work with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems
  • Get hands-on experience with our original Victorian stage machinery
  • Help build, rig, operate, and de-rig productions of all kinds
  • Play a vital role in bringing world-class entertainment to life

This is a physically demanding role, involving manual handling, long hours and late nights — so a good level of fitness and strength is essential.

Full training will be provided, and we particularly welcome applications from those enthusiastic to learn new skills, with a genuine interest in sound, lighting and live events.
