A local charity in Edinburgh seeks an Administrator/Personal Assistant to support a blind individual with tasks such as note-taking, computer assistance, and meeting accompaniment. Training will be provided, and applicants should have good computer skills, written and oral English proficiency, and the ability to work under pressure. The role requires 9 hours of work per week, with shifts during normal business hours.

Job description

Rate of pay £13.60 per hour.

Blind man looking for someone to support him to work for a charity near Easter Road in Edinburgh.

Examples of the help I will need include taking notes for me, helping me with my computer, accompanying me to meetings and basically seeing for me.

No experience necessary as training will be given. However, you must have some skills in using a computer, have the ability to work under pressure, have good eyesight and have excellent written and oral English. A degree of physical fitness is also required to keep up with my walking pace.

I am looking for an Administrator/Personal Assistant to cover two to three shifts totalling 9 hours per week. In addition to this there will be an extra 15 minutes per shift to help me to get to or from work whilst I’m without a guide dog. The shifts will occur usually Monday to Friday during normal business hours. Some shifts will start at 0845.
