About Fair Ways

Fair Ways are looking to recruit a supervising social worker to join our dedicated and supportive fostering team. Our team is relatively small, with Social Workers overseeing smaller caseloads, enabling relationship-based work and quick responsiveness. We prioritize a family-centred approach, keeping foster families at the heart of our work.

Responsibilities of a Supervising Social Worker
  • Providing dedicated supervision and support to foster families, developing their skills and identifying areas for professional growth.
  • Undertaking fostering and parenting assessments as required, adhering to specific role guidelines, and presenting assessments to the Independent Fostering Panel.
  • Maintaining accurate case records, preparing reports, and communicating effectively with outside agencies to keep all parties informed.
  • Conducting monitoring visits and supervision sessions within required timeframes to assess individual needs and identify potential harm.
  • Applying trauma-informed practices using industry-recognized RiiSE training, understanding the impact of early life experiences on behaviour.
  • Advocating for children in care by actively seeking their views and involving them in planning processes.
  • Participating in multi-agency reviews and supporting foster carers and young people's placements, acting as an advocate when necessary.
  • Providing Duty and On-call support, including working one day per week as Duty Social Worker and being available for emergency out-of-hours support, including weekends and evenings.
