Overview

A fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Technical Project Manager, ensuring that MBDA can continue to drive forwards with the latest technologies. This is an exciting opportunity in a fast moving, unique, multi-national function developing and leading complex I.T. projects and solutions. The successful candidate will drive forward the definition and delivery of national and multi-national activities, collaborating with our Customers and Suppliers to mutual benefit. We are looking for someone with a sound technical background to run multiple projects at once, acting as the pivotal point of contact from a technical and governance perspective. The projects will vary in size and technical complexity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the definition, planning and delivery of national and multi-national IT projects and solutions.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently, coordinating with customers and suppliers, and ensuring governance and technical alignment.
  • Serve as a pivotal point of contact for technical and governance aspects of projects.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, problems and their mitigations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work in national and international teams, understanding cultural differences and their impact on business, solutions and projects.
  • Lead project teams from inception (business requirements) through to completion (Acceptance Into Service / Lessons Learned), ensuring schedule, quality and cost targets are met.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, including roadmaps, to a high standard.
Qualifications
  • Qualified and experienced in project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 and AGILE.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL would be an advantage.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to manage numerous stakeholders of varying seniority and familiarity with standard reporting processes to keep management informed of project status.
  • Experience leading a project team from inception to completion with adherence to schedule, quality and cost.
  • Strong analytical skills with a methodical, data-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of Windows Client, Microsoft Office, Windows Server & Active Directory; good understanding of Cloud Services (e.g., Microsoft Azure) and integration into on-premise solutions.
  • Experience with applying patches, updates and security controls to maintain a secure environment and system integrity.
  • Familiar with deployment strategies such as big-bang, deployment rings, canary.
  • Understanding of best practices for working in high-security, multi-network environments typical in the defence industry.
  • Knowledge of PowerShell or other scripting technologies to automate routine tasks.
  • Able to produce and maintain technical documentation, including roadmaps, to a high standard.
