Overview

If you're passionate about electronic engineering, why not consider joining us as a Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer in our Firing Units team. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team responsible for designing electronic equipment to integrate MBDA products into platforms. MBDA delivers cutting-edge products to nations and customers across the world and our Firing Units team is critical to the development of these products. If you are passionate about electronic engineering, as a Senior Power Electronics Tech Lead in our Firing Units team, you will be responsible for designing the electronic equipment required to safely, reliably and efficiently integrate MBDA products into platforms. You will help lead our engineers who are responsible for circuit design, prototyping, testing and integration/design proving of hardware needed for Launch Management systems, datalink and communications systems, as well as providing embedded computing resources for larger Command and Control systems. Your role will require you to work at all stages of the project life cycle and deliver a clear and well thought out plan to meet project requirements. You will work with teams of exceptional engineers who are involved in activities from early feasibility and technology assessments through to certification and supporting transition to production.

Responsibilities
  • Ideally, degree qualified with demonstrable post qualification experience in Electronic Design, development and delivery.
  • Experience in electronic sub-system design, including circuit and system design for EMC and environmental requirements is essential, along with a commitment to designing excellent solutions.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team, with an awareness of the challenges and opportunities that this may bring and a passion for innovation and collaboration
  • Experience or interest in leading a team of Engineers. Providing direction and support throughout delegation and task orientation
  • Excellent problem solving, communication and planning skills
  • Experience of management of direct reports/team leadership

Benefits and Compensation

Salary: Circa £52,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Where possible, a blended approach to on-site and remote working such as 4-5 days a week on-site. This is flexible and can be more or less to suit personal circumstances and project needs. We are also open to part time and/or compressed working hours in this role.

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
