Job Consultant/Job Developer - Timmins (25-17)

Northern College is seeking a Job Consultant/Job Developer for our Timmins Employment Services department. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. Bilingualism is an asset.

Reporting to the Manager of Employment Services and Academic Upgrading, the successful candidate will deliver the Employment Option Programs within the College catchment area.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop, monitor, and adjust service plans in collaboration with clients;
  2. Provide ongoing career guidance to clients and make appropriate referrals to community or other employment services;
  3. Conduct intake interviews to assess client eligibility and needs, including skills, interests, abilities, barriers, educational background, and work experience;
  4. Complete all necessary documentation, such as application forms, service plan agreements, and releases of information, while obtaining required identification;
  5. Research, develop, and deliver workshops based on assessment outcomes and client needs.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Two-year diploma in Human Services or a related field. A diploma in Business may also be considered;
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in career and employment guidance, counselling, workshop delivery, or job placement.
