Job summary

Virtual Hire Staffing is seeking a Mid / Senior Java Web Engineer for a leading global financial markets infrastructure client in London. The role involves hands-on work across backend services and web UI, delivering a modular end-to-end trade management platform in collaboration with architects and frontend developers.

Requirements include strong Java with Spring Boot, REST APIs, React knowledge, SQL/PostgreSQL, Git, and Maven/Gradle; 4–8+ years of experience; and an Agile, Linux/Unix

Qualifications

• 4–8+ years' software engineering experience.
• Strong Java (21+ preferred).
• Working knowledge of React (v17).
• SQL / PostgreSQL, Git, and Maven or Gradle.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on across backend services and web UI in a modular trade management platform.

The role

Join a collaborative engineering team building and enhancing a modular, end-to-end trade management platform — hands-on across backend services and web UI, working closely with architects and frontend developers.

What you'll need

• Strong Java (21 preferred), Spring Boot 3.x, and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of React (v17).
• SQL / PostgreSQL, Git, and Maven or Gradle.
• 4–8+ years' software engineering experience.
• Comfortable in Agile teams and Linux/Unix environments.

Nice to have:

• JSF/JSP, CI/CD, Docker
• Exposure to financial/trading platforms not essential
