Job summary

International Tech Co is hiring a Java Software Engineer to join an onsite engineering team in Birmingham. You will build and improve transactional systems, deliver features at pace, and maintain reliability through strong incident ownership.

Success comes from technical credibility, clear communication, and a growth mindset with rapid learning. You’ll work on Java applications, REST-based services, and may contribute to front-end tasks as needed, within an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of application development experience
• Strong Java programming and software development experience
• Passion for clean, well-tested code and code reviews
• Experience building transactional systems and understanding of software architecture
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

• Build, enhance, and maintain Java applications with clean, well-tested code
• Deliver features and improvements to transactional systems
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and reliability improvements
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders and communicate progress clearly
• Review code and contribute to coding standards and testing practices
• Contribute to front-end development as needed for end-to-end delivery
• Work within Agile delivery, planning and estimation
