Overview:

Our client is seeking a Java Software Engineer to join their remote development team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse software projects, contributing to both feature development and system operations. The successful candidate will collaborate with a skilled team in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment focused on delivering robust software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop new features aligned with business and customer requirements.
• Deliver clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Support live systems by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
• Drive process improvements, including updates from Java 8 legacy builds to a modern CI pipeline with TeamCity and Kubernetes.
• Provide occasional on-site support and training during key implementation phases.
• Collaborate on technical documentation, including design specifications and API documentation.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proficiency with Java (version 8 and above).
• Experience with data serialization formats (XML, JSON, YAML).
• Familiarity with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Proficiency with ORM frameworks (Hibernate/JPA).
• Technical documentation writing experience.
• Understanding of Quality Systems and High Availability architectures.
• Cloud deployments and Continuous Delivery tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
• Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, TestNG, Selenium).
• Experience with legacy Java 8 applications.
• Familiarity with Spring Boot or other IOC frameworks.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and other programming languages.
• Experience deploying to/managing cloud environments (e.g., Microsoft Azure).
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies.
