Job summary

Burns Sheehan is partnering with a well-established technology business in Manchester to grow its Java engineering team. They are hiring mid-level and senior engineers who want to work on challenging solutions using modern tech and best practices.

You will build features with Java 17 and Spring, work in an Agile/Scrum environment, and contribute to automated testing, CI/CD and DevOps. The role offers hybrid working in Manchester and long-term career progression.

Location: Manchester once every two weeks

I'm working with a well-established technology business in Manchester that is growing its Java engineering team.

we are looking for both mid level and senior engineers who have a passion to change, develop and work on challenging solutions using modern tech and best practice.

What you'll be doing

• Building and delivering new features using Java 17 / Spring
• Working as part of a collaborative Agile/Scrum team

• Working with automated testing, CI/CD and modern DevOps practices

What we're looking for

• Experience with Spring / Spring Boot
• Comfortable working in an Agile environment
• Good understanding of testing and code quality
• A problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
• Someone who enjoys working as part of a team and isn't afraid to ask questions

Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, TDD or pair programming is a bonus — but you don't need all of them.
