Java Microservices Developer

6 Month contract initially

Based: Remote/Cardiff - Hybrid. Max 3 days p/w onsite.

Rate: £450 - £500 p/d (via Umbrella company)

We are seeking talented Java Microservices developers to join our team for a new strategic transformation program of work. You will:

• Design, develop, and maintain microservices
• Create and implement microservices with Java
• Ensure microservices are scalable, reliable, and efficient
• Maintain existing microservices, including bug fixes and performance improvements

Key Responsibilities:

CI/CD and Automation:

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for microservices deployment
• Automate testing and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reliability

Code Quality and Best Practices:

• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code
• Follow coding standards and best practices for Java development
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

Key Skills & Experience:

• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
• Understanding of microservices concepts, patterns, and principles
• Experience with frameworks like Spring Cloud
• Knowledge of API design principles
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)

Cloud Platforms:

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud

Testing and Debugging:

• Experience with unit and integration testing, debugging tools

Soft Skills:

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Agile Development:

• Experience with Scrum or Kanban methodologies
