Senior Java/Kotlin Developer - Hybrid role - 2 days in the office - £65-71k + market leading package.

About the Company:
Our client is building a greenfield Vendor Management System (VMS) designed to transform how contingent workforces are managed. This is a rare opportunity to join a product-led, mission-driven tech team at an early stage, with full autonomy to influence the platform's technical direction. You'll work in a modern, containerized microservices architecture built using Kotlin, Spring Boot, MongoDB, and GCP.

The Role:
We're looking for a Senior Java/Kotlin Developer with a strong backend focus and a passion for clean architecture, scalability, and developer experience. You'll be a core contributor to the backend of a greenfield system that's already gained buy-in at the highest level. You'll work with cross-functional teams to prototype, build, and launch scalable services in a distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and build backend services using Kotlin, Spring Boot, and MongoDB on GCP
2. Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to bring features from concept to production
3. Provide technical mentorship through knowledge-sharing sessions and 1:1 support
4. Contribute to the engineering culture by improving processes and raising the quality bar

Essential Criteria:

1. 5+ years of experience with Java, Kotlin, or C++ in a production environment
2. Hands-on experience building microservices within a service-oriented architecture
3. Practical knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerized infrastructure (Docker/Kubernetes)
4. Familiarity with cloud platforms-ideally GCP, but AWS or Azure is fine too
5. Excellent communication skills and experience mentoring engineers
6. Comfortable collaborating with distributed teams across time zones
