Job summary

CGI Group Inc. in the UK is seeking an experienced Java engineer with a DevOps mindset to help run and enhance a critical national authentication platform. You will own delivering new features, resolve incidents, and work within a high-performing engineering team to improve reliability, security and performance.

This hybrid role requires UK Security Clearance or eligibility. You will collaborate with Product Owners, BAs and Tech Leads, and contribute to CI/CD improvements, cloud deployments

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience and DevOps mindset.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure).
• CI/CD and DevOps tooling knowledge (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Maven).
• Containerisation with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Database experience with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server.

Responsibilities

• Own & Deliver: Build and enhance features aligned to the product roadmap.
• Resolve & Support: Troubleshoot and fix high-priority incidents quickly.
• Collaborate & Shape: Work with Product Owners, BAs, and Technical Leads.
• Improve & Modernise: Reduce technical debt and enhance system performance.
• Automate & Streamline: Improve CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Scale & Maintain: Support a high-availability, national service.
