Job summary

Page Personnel is seeking a Java Engineer to join a small team in the City of London, working on a brand new AI-focused financial product. The role is hybrid with three days in Central London.

You will own end-to-end delivery of key software projects, designing scalable Java services and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements and timely delivery. Strong Java and database experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years industry experience.
• Proficient in Java.
• Experience with Apache components.
• Experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL databases.
• Broker platform or similar financial systems experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end delivery ownership of key software development projects and enhancements.
• Design and build scalable, server-side Java services for core financial systems.
• Proactively identify and implement improvements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements, sound designs and timelines.
• Review designs and code, provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyse requirements.
• Implement efficient, scalable code to optimise performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to ensure reliability.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor peers.
• Stay updated with Java developments and document code/processes.
