Java Developer with Very Strong SQL

Location: Glasgow, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

The Role

• Our team is seeking an experienced Java developer for a multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based in Glasgow, joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team.
• You will be at the forefront of a global renovation program to transform the firm's reporting and management of equity holdings.
• You will work within an agile team to deliver software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Your responsibilities include participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies, collaborating with product owners, scrum masters, and team members to refine requirements, and engaging in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• You will interact with business stakeholders across Operations and other departments, including engineering and support teams.
• You will provide technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations teams, covering regulatory reporting obligations across multiple countries.
• This role offers a unique insight into enterprise-wide business operations, requiring effective communication skills for system interactions.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proficiency in Java and related technologies
• Experience with Java frameworks and technologies, especially Spring, Angular, Spark
• Experience with web services, particularly REST
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression testing
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis
• Understanding of Agile principles and practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
