Java Developer with Very Strong SQL

Location: Glasgow, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

The Role

• Join the multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program as an experienced Java developer.
• Work on transforming how the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.
• Participate in an agile team delivering software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and other team members throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Interact with business stakeholders across Operations and other firm areas, including engineering and support teams.
• Provide technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations teams handling regulatory reporting obligations.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proficiency in Java and related technologies.
• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Angular, Spark.
• Experience developing web services, especially REST APIs.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression testing.
• Strong SQL data analytical skills.
• Understanding of Agile principles.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala is a plus.
