Java Developer with Very Strong SQL

Location: Glasgow, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

The Role

• Join a multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program as an experienced Java developer, based out of Glasgow.
• Participate in transforming the firm's reporting and management of equity holdings as part of a global renovation program.
• Work within an agile team to deliver software products in a fast-paced environment.
• Engage in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies, collaborating closely with product owners, scrum masters, and team members.
• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement clarification, implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Interact with business stakeholders across Operations and other departments, including engineering and support teams.
• Provide technical support for Europe and Asia Operations, covering multiple regulatory reporting obligations.
• Communicate effectively with various systems involved in the DOI program across different regions.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proficiency in Java and related technologies.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring, Angular, Spark.
• Experience developing web services, especially REST APIs.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression tests.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis.
• Understanding of Agile principles and practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala is a plus.
