Java Developer with Very Strong SQL
Location: Glasgow, UK
Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

The Role
- Our team is seeking an experienced Java developer for a multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based out of Glasgow, joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team.
- You will be part of a multi-year global renovation program transforming how the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.
- Work within an agile team delivering software products in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies. Collaborate with product owners, scrum masters, and team members to refine requirements and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirement clarification, implementation, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
- Engage with business stakeholders across Operations and other departments, including engineering and support teams.
- Provide technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations teams, covering multiple regulatory reporting obligations and monitoring requirements, including the Amended Transparency Directive implemented in over 40 countries.
- Effective communication skills are essential to coordinate with various systems involved in the DOI program.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Java and related technologies
- Experience with Java frameworks and technologies such as Spring, Angular, Spark
- Experience developing web services, especially REST APIs
- Knowledge of testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression testing
- Strong SQL and data analytical skills
- Understanding of Agile principles and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Additional experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala is a plus
