The Role
- Our team is looking for an experienced Java developer for their multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based out of Glasgow. Joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team,
- You will be at the forefront of a multi-year global renovation program to transform how the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.
- You will join an agile team aiming to deliver software products in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
- You will participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and other Agile ceremonies. You will work closely with product owners, scrum masters, and other team members to refine requirements, and be involved in all phases of the software development lifecycle including requirement clarification, system implementation, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
- You will interact with business stakeholders within Operations and other areas of the firm, including other engineering groups and support teams.
- You will serve as technical support for the Europe and Asia Operations teams, responsible for regulatory reporting obligations and monitoring, including the Amended Transparency Directive across 40+ countries.
- Working on the DOI program provides a unique insight into the enterprise-wide businesses; effective communication skills are essential for coordinating with different systems involved in DOI.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Proficient experience in Java and related technologies.
- Experience with Java frameworks and technologies, especially Spring, Framework, Angular, Spark.
- Experience with web services, particularly REST.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression testing.
- Strong data analytical skills (SQL).
- Understanding of Agile principles and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala.
