Java Developer with Very Strong SQL

Location: Glasgow, UK

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2-3 days a week)

Contract Duration: 6+ Months

The Role

• Our team is looking for an experienced Java developer for their multi-year Disclosure of Interest (DOI) program. This is a hands-on technical role based out of Glasgow. Joining the Global Regulatory Disclosures Team,

• You will be at the forefront of a multi-year global renovation program to transform how the firm reports and manages its equity holdings.

• You will join an agile team aiming to deliver software products in a fast-paced environment.

• Responsibilities include sprint planning, daily stand-ups, requirement refinement, software development lifecycle phases including implementation, testing, deployment, and support.

• You will interact with business stakeholders across Operations and other departments, including engineering and support teams.

• You will serve as technical support for Europe and Asia Operations teams, covering multiple regulatory reporting obligations.

• Effective communication skills are essential for discussions with various systems involved in the DOI program.

What You'll Need to Succeed

• Proficiency in Java and related technologies

• Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Angular, Spark

• Experience developing web services, especially REST

• Familiarity with testing methodologies including unit, integration, and regression tests

• Strong SQL data analytical skills

• Understanding of Agile principles and practices

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Additional experience with Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Spark, and Scala is a plus
